The Capacity Development and Technical Assistance for Minority Community-Based Organizations, and the Community Partnerships to Eliminate Health Disparities Demonstration Grant Programs
Union Positiva, Inc. is currently federally funded by the Office of Minority Health for two of their grants:
1-Technical Assistance, Capacity Development, and Trainings for Minority Community Based Organizations: Provided by Union Positiva, Inc. through a group of trained contracted local and national consultants, and agency’s staff, whose expertise includes Grant Writing, Strategic Planning, Fiscal Management, Evaluation Models, etc. All services are available free of charge to Minority CBOs providing HIV/AIDS services.
2-The Community Partnerships to Eliminate Health Disparities Demonstration Program. Its purpose is to improve the health status of target minority populations by eliminating health disparities in identified health issue areas, including HIV/AIDS. Union Positiva’s target minority population is primarily Latinos/Hispanics residing in Miami-Dade County and adjoining rural communities. This program is intended to provide effective trainings, workshops, educational materials to other Minority specific organizations, their staff and clients, throughout Miami Dade and neighboring counties. This is done through collaborative community-based interventions, implemented at grassroots level, for reducing health disparities, including HIV/AIDS, STD, Substance Abuse, and other health disparities prevalent among racial and ethnic minority populations, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of the collaborative partnerships approach.
Trainings and workshops include the use of videos, DVDs, and printed materials on topics like HIV/AIDS, Substance Abuse, STD, etc, and are targeted for adults and youth populations. All trainings and workshops are available in Spanish and/or English depending on the target population.
If you are interested in receiving any of the services described above for your organization, staff, and clients contact us at (305) 644-0667.
All the services provided through these two programs are free of charge, including trainings, technical assistance, workshops, as well as providing HIV Rapid Testing. All services are provided on-site (at your agency), or in-house at Union Positiva, Inc.
You can also send us your information so that we can keep you informed regarding upcoming trainings and workshops.
